Barcelona city 100 Mbps 4G broadband internet Throughout in 2012
4G broadband Internet access to be availiable within the city of Barcelona in 2012. It was one of the conditions the Mobile World Congress chose the Catalan capital as the organising city until 2018.
Telefónica say the first 4G USB devices & 4G phones are to go on the market during 2012 and will be 14 faster than 3G!.

4G starts in Germany : July 1st 2011
From the 1st July 2011 Telefónica plan to launch thec first European mobile fourth generation (4G) commercial service with LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology. It is in the German market from next . The Spanish operator is in partnership with China's Huawei and Nokia Siemens Networks. Costing around 29.90 euros for 6 months then 39.90 euros per month, for a speed of 7.2 megabytes per second, for upto 10 gigabytes per month then 384 kilobytes. 4G downloads will be 3 times faster than 3G network. By 2020 it could be 4 to 5 times faster. Serving the needs of mobile data usage far better and opening up 4G mobile phones and laptops capability and uses.

The ITU (International Telecommunication Union) have finally decided on a standard for 4G.
Now that the 4G Technology has been agreed, the auctions of the 4G spectrum to offer 4G Broadband and Mobile services are due in 2012, allowing 4G suppliers to launch 4G services.
